For instance, appropriate measures should be put in place to ensure that only individuals that are authorized get to deal with the data. The failure to ensure that the privacy of data in a company is maintained can lead to very serious consequences. For instance, individuals may be put at risk if personal data on important details such as bank accounts is shared or accessed by the wrong people. I believe that data privacy and ethics should be closely regulated in the US like it is in the EU with the recently enacted GDPR regulation. This will significantly reduce the likelihood of privacy breaches which is essential.
