Scientists Develop Smart Sensor to Prevent Post-Surgery Blood ClotsScientists from Scotland have developed a low-cost polymer-based device to help prevent blood clots in patients immobilized after medical surgery. Developed by Dr Philip Hands and Professor Marc Desmulliez of the University of Edinburgh alongside Drs Lisa Macintyre and Vasileios Mitrakos of Heriot-Watt University, the sensor is thinner, more sensitive, and flexible than similar devices on market.
