10 Best Skeleton Watches for Collectors and Connoisseurs
Skeleton dial watches, a concept originating in the 1760s by French watchmaker André-Charles Caron, display the intricate inner workings of the timepiece by stripping away non-essential components. While skeleton watches initially emerged in the 18th century, they gained mainstream popularity in the Swiss watchmaking industry during the 1970s, a period when mechanical watches faced decline due to the quartz revolution.
